We received few questions how does VR /360 plugin differs from VR plugin by Brightcove or for JW Player and some other players.

Well, it differs in small details, but pretty important for users.
All VR 360 video plugins are based on three.js library and WebGL JavaScript API for rendering interactive 3D and 2D.

We have reviewed most of available plugins and VR/360 support in popular players.

1. VR/360 free plugin by Brightcove for VideoJs framework

Looks good on desktop modern browsers, doesn’t work on IE11 and Win7.
Cardboard/Fullscreen mode is broken on iOS, options and back to normal view doesn’t work on Android. Missing any manual navigation.

2 VR/360 JWPlayer

Looks good on desktop modern browsers, doesn’t work on IE11 and Win7.
Carboard doesn’t work on iOS, Gyroscope doesn’t work on iOS and on Android.
Missing any manual navigation.

3. VR/360 Bitmovin

Works well on desktop. Includes some API for manual control, though missing any ready solution. Not working on IE11/Win7, not even any fallaback.
Not working on iOS completely. Limited cardboard view on Android. No Gyroscope wupport on iOS/Android.

We put a lot of efforts to fix or add support for all described bugs or missing features in 3 mentioned most popular web HTML5 player.

Our plugin works on most modern browsers and even on IE11/Win7.
It includes nice manual navigation, including unique center view option.
Gyroscope works fine on Android and on iPhone (you may need to enable some iOS options). Cardboard view works perfect on Android, locked in landscape mode. Works also on iPhone inline.
